Kaduna Park, soon to be home to a new community of families in Officer South, has an enriching past dating back to the 19th century.
In 1866, the Henty family, a family of successful cattle and thoroughbred horse breeders, purchased the land of Kaduna Park, along with fifteen other Crown Allotments including the Pakenham Park homestead section, which was then subdivided in 1912.
Kaduna Park still includes the picturesque weatherboarded house which is thought to date from 1912(circa), around the time of the subdivision by the Hently family.
The land offers the Cardinia Shire a considerable insight into the history and past of Officer, providing a deep evocation into the Edwardian-era from its well-preserved farmhouse and surrounding farmland.
Kaduna Park is now writing a new chapter in its history becoming the site of a brand new real estate development by Parklea. Combining its rich past with the future, it will be the place of a new community environment where past and future intersect in a warm and welcoming environment.
